Juillet 2001. Massilia's
burning !!! 5 groupes marseillais enflamment les planches de la Machine
à coudre. A la fin de cette soirée ultra arrosée,
4 petits gars continuent de swinguer névrotiquement sur les
Thunders, Devil Dogs, Saints, Boys, Barracudas, Dogs, Clash, Damned,
NY Dolls, Ramones et autres Dead Boys hurlés par une sono défaillante.
Avant de décider dans un ultime moment de lucidité de
fonder un groupe de glam punk rock & roll !! Ouais, un groupe
où on se la jouerait grave ! Lunettes de soleil, chemises déboutonnées,
frime et rock & roll, voilà le programme. Et c'est ainsi,
juste avant de s'écrouler sur le plancher noyé de bière,
que Pascal (guitare, Gasolheads), Raphaël (basse & chant,
Dollybird), Stéphane (guitare, Lollipop) et Mathieu (batterie,
Sugarfix) fondèrent les Neurotic Swingers ! Burn Baby Burn
!
AAprès le split
45 T avec Kevin K (New York), la sortie de l'album "Artrats"
, est accompagnée d'une tournée européenne. Le
CD sort au Japon sur Myrmecoleo Records (Adam West, Electric Frankenstein,
Tim Strom etc… http://www.myrmecoleo.com/) , tandis que le label
belge Demolition Derby (New Bomb Turks, Devil Dogs, Mummies, Teengenerate

Artrats s'attirent d'emblée
les faveurs de la presse et se retrouve classé 20eme meilleur
album de l'année 2003 par X-Rock, dans les 10 meilleurs albums
de l'année 2003 par Ventilo, dans les 10 meilleurs albums de
l'année 2003 par Now Wave, Maximum Rock & Roll (USA) et
Psychotic Reaction (Espagne) ; alors que le titre " Night Riders
" est sélectionné par les indés du Mouv.
Une compilation (agrémentée

sont un des plus beaux hommage jamais rendus aux années 76/77;

combinant puissance et mélodie, les possibilités ne
sont pas infinies. Les groupes ne manquent certes pas mais ceux qui
parviennent vraiment à aligner les éléments dans
le bon ordre ne sont pas si nombreux. De temps en temps, on tombe
heureusement sur la pointure qui saura ranimer notre foi dans les
guitares grasses et puissantes comme des sumo. NEUROTIC SWINGERS en
fait parti. Pas une seconde de répit sur cet album qui redonne

hell, what's up with all these GREAT fucking French punk bands? The
latest from the Neurotic Swingers is tearing up my stereo and reaffirming
my belief in that thing called rock n' roll. Good lord, I'm impressed!
How do you say "awesome" in French? Really. 100 % killer
punk rock. Artrats just brings the rock, and it does so with all the

Nice 'n' dirty rock and
roll punk rock fuelled on a diet of JD and Camel cigarettes I'm sure.
So many bands attempt this style and fail miserably. Songwriting,
musicianship and attitude....these guys have the complete package
and more. the songs are catchy, there's some superb lead guitar work
and it sounds great on every level. They don't really sound like the
New Bomb Turks circa "Destroy ! Oh boy" but they have that
attitude, maybe with a little NYC 77 style in there too. As I said,
there's a lot of bands, world over, who are playing this style, not

French punk rockers? Is
that an oxymoron? Well, what's your definition of French punk rockers
I say? Semantics aside, these four lads from the land of vino have
tossed together eight tunes that'll toss you into the way-back time
machine and keep you there, in true punk fashion, for just under 19
minutes. Do the math if you want, but songs are short and to the point.
Yeah, bands like the Clash and the Damned and the Dead Boys were around
long before, but it's nice to hear the brusqueness, the youthful urgency,
the crashing craziness that this style of punk brings to the party.
For those infatuated with that Orange County sound, this may be a
shock, but this is what punk is, so let it rip, give a smile, and
relax. The title track is my pick for the song I'd replay the most,
sounding more along the lines of the Buzzcocks or the NY Dolls, and
again, I'd rather give this a spin than take my chances with the radio.

The Powers That Be "accidentaly" lost my reviews and out
of all the crap I reviewed, this was the only thing that matters enough
for me to absolutely, positively mention. It needs to be reviewed.
You, the rock and roll afficionado, need to know about this god-dawn
record. It's fucking great, is what it is. I haven't been able to
turn this off. Any day of the week, you can peek into my window and
see me jumping up and down on the cough and spazzing around the living
room while this blasts out through my setreo. It's that goddawn ggod.
these Frenchies seriously know what's what. Imagine, if you will,
the BRIEFS and HIVES hanging out drinking beer, eating Pizza, and
flipping through old issues of sniffin' Glue and Creem Magazine, the
suddenly they decided to make a record as a super group. That super
group would sound like these guys, only not as good. So why don't
you put that in your pipe and smoke it, Mr Man ? Just get this fucking

The biggest trump of the
band is frontman, who has a really good and exceptional voice for
this kind of music. A superband.- Oor, Pays-Bas This is my top record
of the year!!! This is shit hot right down to the cover art and everything.
It's just straight fucking punk rock, not fucking streetpunk, not
fucking hardcore punk, not fucking anything but Punk. It's fucking
fantastic. Forget about November and December...ain't nothing gonna

French motherfuckers rock
the house a la Teenage Head! Considering their wild, primitive, fun-spirited
take on the classic sounds of The Saints, Heartbreakers, Dead Boys,
and Teenage Head, one could say that France's Neurotic Swingers are
typical of most contemporary "European punk rock n' roll"
bands. You know: skinny ties, cool shades, bad attitudes, and snarling
broken-English vocals! You're bound to enjoy their dirty noise if
you're a fan of the bands mentioned above. Loud, catchy, and rawer
than a masturbating teen's cock after his sixth orgasm of the day,
the NS aural attack is primitive, powerful, and a hell of a lot of
fun. This latest disc of theirs is a short & sweet display of
sweaty, hard-hitting rock n' roll that oozes the spirit of back alley
punk and lacks even a hint of pretension. All in all, a darn good
